Chateau Lake Louise – Weekly Hotel Feature

July 25th, 2007 · 4 Comments

The Chateau Lake Louise is one of the top hotels in the world because of one thing. Location. Situated on the banks of Lake Louise it has a panoramic view of the Rocky Mountains. The service is impeccable, the food delicious and there are a ton of activities to keep you busy.

I suggest hiking the big beehive trail so you can get a birds eye view of the lake. It’ll take you a good 4-6 hours if you come down the valley of glaciers trail on the backside. It’s a beautiful hike and you can take a break up at the tea house at the top of the mountain. If you’re not a hiker, try canoeing across the lake, riding a horse or mountain biking through the paths. Or you could stop by for some world renowned skiing. The view from the chairlifts are truly breathtaking.

I’ve met people from all over the world at Lake Louise and everyone has the same opinion. Wow. Stop by and enjoy one of the most beautiful places on earth. It will cost you $350+/night for a guest room and can go up to $1,300/night for the suites, but the peace of mind is well worth the money.

Thank you so much for posting. Saw this on the “Chateaus” show on some channel the other night and am now entranced. These photos should hopefully convice my husband to add it to our “dream vacations” folder and i definitely appreciate the suggestions of specific hiking trails. -sigh- what a daydream vacation site!

Just returned! This is the most beautiful site I have ever seen. The view is spectacular from the hotel and from the shoreline. Walking even a short distance around the lake from the back of the hotel is a must. The evening stays light until 9:30 – 10:00 this time of year and the views from the restaurant or lounge are simply stunning. A must see if you go to Alberta.

Here’s a video about the hotel and some of the staff there if anyone is interested.
