Our oppressive management is at it again, shattering dreams and crushing hopes. Those in the software industry might call this feature creep… (groan). Yes, another weekly feature, this time appearing on Fridays. It’s the Gadget of the Week: we choose a piece of technology that kicks ass, or at least has plenty of potential to kick ass. Today, it’s a gadget that we hope really makes good on its promises because we want one real bad. Follow the yellow link road to find out what’s piqued our interest this week.
This week we were impressed by the new Myvu personal media viewer. Now if you like watching a 2″ iPod screen then keep doing what you’re doing. But if you want to view all your crazy downloads the way they were meant to be seen, you need to check out the new Myvu. Basically they’re glasses that make you look like a robot and project an image that looks like a big screen TV. They also come with earphones that allow you to go into your own little world. Who cares that there’s a million people on the subway, you’re watching Hero’s (best show ever by the way).
Now I wouldn’t recommend driving, or doing anything requiring movement, but as everyone knows we just don’t watch enough TV. I mean there’s 24 hours in a day and how many channels now? And talk about smart, the fully loaded version comes with a thin battery pack that doubles as an iPod case. For $200-300 depending on what version you get, you can’t go wrong. So check out the Myvu and catch up on Family Guy during your next family reunion.
