Now I don’t think anyone should adopt smoking, but if you already do I think you should consider adopting the Ruyuan (meaning “like smoking”). It’s a little device that looks like a cigarette and delivers nicotine without any carcinogens. Just pure unfiltered, heart racing nicotine. It even releases smoke to give the same experience.
The Golden Dragon Group out of Hong Kong currently produces this nifty little replacement smoke and they’re in the process of getting FDA approval in the states. Even though I don’t smoke myself, I can sure see the benefits to a product that allows addicted users to replace their expensive death sticks with something that won’t kill you and that’s actually cheaper.
The devise will run you a one time $208 fee and a 350 puff cartridge costs $4. So far the cartridges come in three strengths, but no mention yet about whether menthol and bubble gum flavor will follow. I pondered whether I should post this on livvit, as it’s not exactly about ambitious lifestyle. But for all the smokers out there I think a cheaper, healthier alternative would improve your life greatly and allow you to live a longer more ambitious life.
Please leave a comment if you have any great ideas for a post, or would like to do a guest post on livvit.com. Thanks for the help building our community of ambitious people.

Now that you’ve got the plasma TV (or LCD) and the couch, you can grab a beer and chill out. But then you realize that your IQ is not nearly high enough to figure out how to get the TV to switch to your HD cable box, and your DVD remote is on the other side of the room, so you’re stuck gazing into a deep black abyss thanks to you’re TV’s awesome contrast ratio. What you need is the Logitech Harmony 1000 Advanced Universal Remote
so you don’t have to move your lazy butt from it’s perch. With all the user-friendly capability of previous Harmony remotes in a 3.5″ touch-screen format this one looks like a winner.

Comparable remotes from other companies might run $1000, while this Harmony can be found for under $500 online. It will control up to 15 components which you can select from an online database of 175,000 devices, or program on your own.

Forbes recently did an article that I thought deserved mention on livvit. We’re all about ambitious lifestyles and you can’t have a great lifestyle without a great job. The article centered on jobs that are fantastics in many respects, but have downsides when you look closesly.
For example take a luxury cruise ship captain. They can expect to make a cool $250,000/year while working four months on, two months off. Add in the fact that you wake up to the Carribean and it seems like the best career ever. However, there is a lot of training that’s required and you’re responsible for the lives of thousands. All of a sudden the stress of the career becomes apparent. They also feature professional video game players, lingerie photographers and weathermen (I don’t see a downside to this career: high pay, fame and you only have to be right 20% of the time – my kind of job).
So take a gander at the slideshow and see if any of these careers entice you.
Or take a look at a new book featuring two sisters who started a cupcake shop and made it big!
From Scratch: A Business Story

Oh, and leave a comment if you have any dream careers. Or tips on finding one. We’re all about sharing experiences to help everyone lead a better life here at livvit.

If you’ve ever wanted privacy then you should check out the Woodpecker Hotel in Vasteras, Sweden. The hotel is perched 50 feet up an Oak tree in a Swedish park and you can only get there by good old fashioned rope ladder. Complete with a bathroom, cooking facilities and an Ikea bed (what else do you expect in Sweden) it is probably the best equipped Tree house you’ll ever see.

You can expect to spend $250-350/night and as there is only one room I would book early. Oh and there’s limited room service so remember to bring a snack or two.

Chances are, most people out there are still using their mouse to navigate through the Windows Start Menu to find the programs they use often, or they’ve pinned them to a Quick Launch bar in the taskbar. To skim a few seconds off the time it takes to launch a program check out Launchy. It’s a free utility that allows you to just type the name, or part of the name, for the program/file/song you wish to open and it will do the work for you. It works similar to the windows Run command (Start key + R) but it’s a little smarter and more customizable.
Nice touch: Add your favorites to the list of directories Launchy searches and you can open livvit.com with ease.

I think fractional ownership is a great way to get a little bit of luxury in your life for a lot less. CLUBGT is a great way to get into 10 supercars, for less than the price of an average sedan. You buy points, just as you would in a timeshare, and these allow you to “rent” the cars. Weekends are more expensive than weekdays and the pricier rides cost more points per mile. They have the Ferrari 550 Maranello, Lamborghini Gallardo, Porsche 911 GT3, Ferrari F355 GTB (shown below) and several other high end luxury sports cars.

Although you won’t get too far for the basic points package you can still impress on an occasion or two and see what it’s like to lead the rich life.

Let me first say that I am a fanatic about personal finance. I’ve been studying it for years and I find it sexier than Paris Hilton… even when she’s out of her jail clothes. One of the tenets in personal finance however, is the budget. And BUDGETS DON’T WORK. They don’t work because after a week or two of staying on top of one (if you actually take the time to make one) you run into a situation that messes everything up. Whether it’s a sudden car repair, a pair of versace sunglasses or your sudden desire to see how many beers you can drink in a night at the local bar.
So what do I suggest… The 60% budget. But since we hate that word, lets call it the 60% solution. Basically, it means covering all your “must” expenses with 60% of your paycheck (after taxes but before your retirement deductions). These include:
- Mortgage
- Car payment/lease
- Insurance
- Property taxes
- Phone bill
- Cable/Internet
- Food, Clothes and other basic necessities.
Yes it’s hard to cover all of these with 60% of your paycheck. Right out of University it’ll be near impossible, but it should be a goal that you want to reach. So don’t give up if you’re not there right away, keep at it and you’ll eventually get there. This is how you split up the remaining 40%:

With a little help from the Hiddenbed, the problem if sleeping on power cords virtually disappears! This murphy bed is the first that I’ve seen where the desk actually transforms into the bed, all without disrupting the mess on your desk. If you’re tight on space in the home and have turned your spare bedroom into a home office, this is a great way to reclaim some of that space. The Hiddenbed comes as a ready to assemble kit and is available in a variety of finishes and configurations. So whether you like to work late nights, or are a setting up shop in a remote area where there are no accomodations nearby, this could be a solution to one of your problems. Not the narcolepsy, the space thing.

Considered to be vaporware since it’s conception, the Art. Lebedev Studio Optimus Maximus Keyboard is the only keyboard for the rich and famous. Similar in function to the Optimus Mini Three, every key of the Optimus Maximus is a stand-alone 48×48 pixel OLED display which displays the functionality that key provides.

This would be great for gaming, Photoshop, AutoCAD, or just used as a program launcher for either Max of Windows. This is one expense you might want to let the company write off, though, with the price tag shining bright at $1490. That is, if you can get one… the release date was March 15, 2007 and they’re still accepting pre-orders. It’s a shame that this one will probably remain vaporware and never reach the market at an acceptable price, not allowing anyone to program in 104 ANY keys.

Now if you’re like me a bath is not something done to get clean. It’s something that refreshes the soul. On my top 10 favorite things to do, sitting in the tub with a good book would be near the top. Now I’ve graduated from a normal tub to a soaker, but I started looking for the piece de resistance. The best there is. And the following two are my favorites.
The Luxor combines all that is good in life. It’s a two seater with headrests like a sports car, has an LCD plasma and more jets than Southwest Air. I could imagine spending a couple hours in here with a good book and a better companion. It goes for about $6,000. But even though this tub will allow you to watch Harry Potter vs. reading about him in the tub, I think there’s a better one…

The new Morphosis Alpha is the most beautiful bathtub in the world, although it possibly has the worst name. I mean it doesn’t change into anything (that I know of) so the morph part makes no sense and the Alpha part… well I guess that maybe makes sense. Anyways, it’s made by Jacuzzi, has a contoured backrest, inline heater and a sanitation system (just don’t get carried away) so you can sleep at night in it. It even has an Illumatherapy system and comes with 12 jets. But perhaps the best feature is the look. Elegant, comfortable and sleek. If you can afford the $20,000 to pick one of these up, congratulations, you’re about to be in heaven a little earlier.

Let us know if you’ve seen anything better and happy tubbing.
