The Napa Valley Wine Train

July 18th, 2007 · 1 Comment

Now I know taking vineyard tours is great, but imagine taking a train ride through the Napa valley vineyards. The Napa Valley Wine Train will now take you on one of the best train tours in the world. The 1917 Pullman Dining Car has been meticulously restored with imported Honduran Mahogany, etched glass and polished brass. A 1947 Pullman Vista Dome Dining Car is glass topped and features 4-course luncheons as well as moonlight tours. Fresh meals are served while you take three hours traveling through some of the most beautiful countryside in the world.

And for a once in a lifetime experience it’s not too expensive. Well, depending on how many of the 250 wines you try. A lunch tour starts at $90 and the dinners go for around $125. You won’t be moving at the breakneck speeds like the trains in Europe and Japan, but you can actually see what the country side looks like. If you’re rolling around Napa Valley try the train. You’ll love the food, the countryside and hopefully will remember a few of the delicious wines you tried when you wake up the next day.
